Redirect really out-of-date links (you absolutely want to keep) to pages of secondary importance that are as relevant as possible to your existing content.Re-point existing redirected links to better, more equivalent content (as you are recommended to do this in the Panda document).Avoid redirecting links en-mass to NON-equivalent content e.g.Avoid redirecting any links to category pages unless extremely relevant, as per advice from Google.Minimize redirect chains across your site (not only can Google be expected to only follow about 5-10 redirects in a chain, employing fewer redirects will speed up your site).Use 301 redirects on all other versions of the domain, pointing to one canonical version of the new domain (TARGET URL).Find all inbound broken backlinks to the site and redirect them to “ equivalent content”.Fix all on-site errors like 400 and 500 errors before you migrate (ideally).Use 301 redirects to redirect to ONE canonical HTTPS version of the new TARGET URL (add a self-referring Canonical Link Element to the new TARGET URL).
